The dried fruit is soaking, the pudding is ready to be stirred on Sunday, the internet shopping parcels are starting to arrive and the loft is open ready for the decs to come down. Readers, it can only mean one thing...Christmas is coming!
 
I have put together a bumper selection of the best products around this festive season and I just know that you are going to love them all. We had a blast at the London BBC Good Food Show!  Our stand was so popular and the 'try before you buy' workshop an absolute winner.  I have included photos below of some of the highlights for us including the spectacular cake we produced using all of the decorations made by our visitors to the workshop.

Someone's Been 
At The Pud!
 
 
 
This super cute novelty Christmas cake will put a smile on the faces of all ages from 1-100! Use a Christmas pudding mould with your favourite chocolate sponge recipe and cover with our Sattina real chocolate sugarpaste to create a mouth-watering dessert cake that could even be served with some double cream.  
 
Try out your modelling skills to create your own cheeky creatures using coloured sugarpaste from our Sattina intense colour range
 
Invest in a holly plunger cutter to create perfect leaves every time and finally, put the sparkle into your Christmas by sprinkling red glitter (remove before eating) over the berries on the top.
 
TOP TIP 
Create perfect smiles on your models every time using the scallop end of the Scallop and Comb Modelling Tool.

Rocking Around 
the Christmas Tree......

 

At the top of my Christmas wish list has to be this fabulous Christmas tree tin.  It comes with a perfectly sized red square cake drum so all you need to do is cover the cake and create your decorations. I used a selection of our Christmas cutters to adorn this Christmas tree and I used our Sattina sugarpaste for them all. 

 
If you are making gingerbread men make sure you leave them to dry fully before drawing on their features with edible pens. Why not copy me and use the bunting cutter set to decorate the board?

Christmas Present Cake
 
 
Make your presents look good enough to eat this year using our set of 2 deep square tins. You can choose your wrapping paper colours to suit your own Christmas colour theme from our vast range of Sattina sugarpaste.  
 
Use Christmas cutters to create the pattern on the wrapping paper; I've used triple holly plunger cutters and Christmas tree cutters, finished off with red sugar pearl balls for holly berries.
 
My cake ribbons are patterned using embossing rolling pins from the Little Venice Cake Company range. They are beautifully simple to use and the effect is stunning when used with edible pearl lustre spray .
 
The best way to achieve perfectly sized sugar ribbons is using the ingenious multi-ribbon cutter
 

TOP TIP
Make a gift tag using florist paste which has been rolled out, cut into shape and dried over night until hard. You can write the message using an edible ink pen or pipe the writing in royal icing.

Christmas Nostalgia
 
 
As a child I remember the extent of decorating our Christmas cake was cleaning off last year's royal icing from our plastic holly and robin decorations...how times have changed!  You can bring those memories back to life with our  retro range so have a browse and get all nostalgic. 
 

TOP TIP
Add a teaspoon of glycerine to your royal icing to keep it from setting hard. For a light, fluffy royal icing, try Squires Royal Icing Mix which will create the perfect snow scene cake covering.

When Christmas arrives in my house, so does a teeny weeny bit of craziness. This is mainly shown in the absurd amount of decorations that are put up and also the abundance of cookies that are made to hang on the tree.  Having a massive selection of Christmas cookie cutters does help somewhat and here are just a few of the ones that will be dangling off my tree this yuletide...

TOP TIP
If you want to hang your cookies, use a circle cutter to punch a hole in your cookie dough before baking. When baked thread our red and white country check (gingham) ribbon through the holes and then hang away!

My latest 'Desert Island Decorating Tool' has to be the shell border mould which creates the most perfect shells around the bottom of cakes without ever touching a piping bag!  Simply dust the mould with either a lustre dust or cornflour to ensure no sticking and then add Sattina sugarpaste, tidy up the edges and release from the mould. Looking at the picture below, would you know the difference?
