Frolicking Reindeer Cupcakes
Our banner picture features some stunning blue cupcakes with Silver Reindeer,
but how did we achieve such a fresh vibrant blue when using a creamy
yellow buttercream? We have the perfect solution of course - Wilton's White Icing Colour Liquid and the new Sugarflair Turquoise Paste Colour.
the white icing liquid is added to buttercream, it turns completely
white! You can then add the turquoise paste colour to achieve a cool,
icy blue instead of settling for a yellowy dull blue often caused by the
colour of the butter. To create a lovely two tone effect with your
buttercream, fill one side of a large Blue Disposable Plastic Savoy Bag (don't forget to drop in your Jem 1M tube
first) with the white and the other side with the blue
buttercream. When you twist the top of the icing bag, the colours
will naturally work their way down to the tube and then when they come
out the end, they will blend perfectly.
The Green Board Is Back In Town!
celebrate the festive period, we have back in stock the fantastic 18" x
12" High Density Green Non-Stick Roll Out Board. If you haven't
got one, then put it on your Christmas list NOW!
'Tis The Season For Floral
Glam up your cupcakes and cookies with this set of 6 different Floral Texture Mats.
They are perfect for use with sugarpaste; just roll it out, lay your
chosen design mat over the top and firmly press down onto the
sugarpaste. Cut a circle the same size as the top of your cupcake with a
Round Metal Pastry Cutter and then gently lift onto the top of your cupcake. To embellish even further, spray with one of our Edible Lustre Sprays and pick out the design with our Rejuvenator Spirit & Edible Gold Sparkle Lustre Dust Kit.
These mats can also be used on buttercream to create some beautiful
effects but make sure you leave it to harden otherwise you may get in a
Jelly Nose Christmas Cupcakes
These little Edible Ruby Jelly Hearts will be featuring in our Valentine Newsletter but we cannot resist using them as Christmas jelly noses!
is my favourite picture of the season. Aren't these Santas the
cutest things ever! Perhaps they are practicing for the next
Dancing on Ice series?
A Fruity Christmas Tree
The Christmas Tree Moulds
that were featured in last month's newsletter have now been used to
bake fruit cakes in VERY successfully. They come in 2 different
sizes and are perfect as a disposable baking tin, click here for the larger size. If you don't want to cover your fruit cake in marzipan and icing, you can just decorate your bare tree with Scrumptious Gold Star Sprinkles and finish off with a pretty Gold Glitter Dot Ribbon. The smaller mould fits perfectly into an Economy 4 Cavity White Window Cupcake Box with Gold Stars, but take the cupcake holder out first.
Red and Green Spells 'Christmas'
This is my favourite cupcake of the season. I love the Green Holly Cupcake Cases, the creaminess of the Vanilla Frosting, the tradition of the Light Green Icing Holly Decorations and the prettiness of the Red Ribbon with White Christmas Trees..... Simply perfect.
Take And Make
is a perfect take and make. Take a Christmas fruit cake (any
size, any shape) and cover with sugarpaste (any colour). Next, buy
this brilliant Christmas Stockings, Bows and Holly Garland Set
to make a beautifully decorated masterpiece! We have created a garland
with the edible holly, tied the ribbon into bows and placed them above
the stockings so they look like they're hanging over the mantel piece.
This is a lovely idea for a cake if you're having guests on Christmas
Eve and after you have eaten the cake, the stockings make great tree
Stunning Stollen Scene
could pick any festive treat to pile up into a mountain and decorate
with all of our traditional non edible decorations such as Snow Covered Christmas Trees, Small Plastic Holly Sprigs, Plastic Reindeer, Red Christmas Chalet with Tree and a good old traditional Small Gold Happy Christmas Motto. I have piled slices of Stollen onto a Coloured Cake Board and dusted with icing sugar to finish.
*** Reach For The Stars ***
We love this new Little Venice Cake Company Clear Stars Impressions Rolling Pin
and it has arrived just in time for Christmas. Just roll over
sugarpaste to create a fabulous stars design as I have done in the
picture. I have painted some of the stars using our Rejuvenator Spirit and Gold Sparkle Lustre Dust Kit, also on Special Offer.
The Perfect Christmas Pressie
Keep your ribbons neat and tidy in this gorgeous Little Venice Cake Company Deluxe Ribbon Organiser. A perfect Christmas present for a cake decorator don't you think?
Poinsettia Garland Patchwork Cutter & Stencil
Just 3 simple steps to create this stunning looking decoration on the sides or tops of your cakes.
Roll out some Modelling Paste or Florist Paste
(whichever you prefer to use) to approx. 2mm thick. Carefully use
the patchwork cutter to cut out the shape for the poinsettia and leave
to dry for approx. 15mins.
When your paste is slightly set, rub a very thin layer of Jem Petal Base over the surface of your paste and lay the stencil over the top, ensuring that both shapes match. Tip a tiny amount of Red and Forest Green Sugarflair Blossom Tint Dusting Colour into a Paint Palette and, using a Dusting Brush,
gently sweep the colour over the stencil making sure that it stays in
the area and doesn't spread to another part of the design.
I also used Radiant Gold Edible Lustre Dust
to give the design some sparkle. Once finished, lift off the stencil
and attach to either the top or the side of your cake with Edible Glue or royal icing.
The finished effect is simply stunning yet so quick and easy to achieve.
