Flatter your loved one with some brightly decorated cookies this Valentine’s Day! We used the True Red and Cerise Pink Sattina Sugarpaste to cover them, just spread a little of your favourite jam over the cookie before attaching the icing. If you would like to know how to make perfect cookies before decorating please watch our video: How to make perfect cookie dough

Step 1.

You can add a few romantic words or phrases to your cookies using the Jem Alphabet Cutter Set which works perfectly because the cutters are only 19mm high. The easiest and quickest way is to simply use the cutters as embossers; work out where you want the letters to go and gently push them into the icing. Alternatively, cut out the letters in icing but this is a little more fiddly.

Step 2.

Create patterns or edge your cookies in tiny icing hearts, cut out using the PME Heart Plunger Cutters. Roll out your sugarpaste to about 2mm thick, brush a little edible glue onto the cookie where you want the heart to go, cut out the heart and plunge straight into place on the cookie.

Step 3.

Decorate your cookies with sprinkles, we love the Pearl Sugar Ball Sprinkles which are delicate and come in a variety of colours. Simply brush edible glue onto the icing on the cookie and pour over the sprinkles. (Remember to place a bowl underneath to save all the excess sprinkles for reusing).

Step 4.

To create a luscious lips cookie, turn your heart cookie sideways and decorate with red and white sugarpaste. We added some markings with the PME Flower & Leaf Modelling Tool and added a gloss by over with Clear Piping Gel.
